About Me

I love to stamp and create. Making cards is a hobby of mine and I want to share them with you! As my header says "short & sweet" - that's how my posts will be! If you want to know where something is from or how it was made, just leave me a comment!

:Hoot Hoot::

I have fallen for Owl Stamps. I love them but I didn't have any. Just saw them in idea books and wished I had one. So when I had a 40% off coupon for Micheals I decided it was time to find one. I found a bunch! All on one Clear Stamp set! Woo Hoo!! This is the largest one and I love how perfectly he fits in the bottom corner. Makes it feel so fallish! Is that even a word?

::Hummingbird takes flight::

I *heart* the Top Note die cut from Stampin' Up! I love the shape and I love how nicely it fits on a card front. Bliss. Paired with the matching punch for the words and it worked out great!

::Fall Hostess Gift::

I decided to make a boxed set as a Fall Hostess Gift so off I went to Precious Memories and found this great fall leaf paper! It comes in a 12x12 size. I made 6 cards for the box. 3 of each style (the oval has a different stamp in it)
"to a friend""for you"
The box ful of cards :)
Envelopes at the bottom. I love this idea! So glad I stalked someone's blog and found the box recipe! It's not my idea so I will not take credit. Cudos to the creator!

This is a 'girl' paper version of the below post that my mommy made :) I love her paper choice.

Okay, so this is one of my FAVORITE card styles! If you have a gift card to give it is PERFECT! No more GC's falling out of the cars when you take it out of the envelope - revealing your gift before the recipient has even read the card!
My dad's cousin is an amazing cardmaker and she came from Edmonton to 'play' with me, my mom and sister. With her she brought this idea....
The frontThe first inside flap where the GC sits inside the pocketThe second inside flap where you can write your message.The finished product, showing you the full card.

I made this one in 'boy' papers as I was giving it to my BIL for his graduation. I will post the one my mom made in 'girl' papers. It's so pretty!!

Top Note pocket

A little antiquing, a little stamping, a little Top Note-ing.
I didn't use a double sided paper for the Top Note Die Cut (Stampin' Up!), I cut it out twice and then cut the patterned one in half to create a pocket. Kinda fun. I think :)

Get Well.

The papers used in this card are from Stampin' Up & Creative Memories! Although I don't sell for Stampin' Up! anymore I use their products.....I accumulated enough while I was selling that I need to use it up! No, really though, their cardstocks are so nice. The patterend paper is from Creative Memories. I used ribbon from Micheals that I picke dout of the $1.50 bin.....I LOVE that bin! All my Micheals ribbons are from that bin! And the 'Get Well' embellishment I pickd up at Precious Memories when the Making Memories products were on sale. I like the dimension in gives to the front of the card. Oh, and I stamped the front grey cardstock with 2 stamp pad colours with the same stamp.

My Dear, Kind & Wonderful Friend...

Who knew Hemp could be used on cards? Lol.
I love the Natural Hemp Twine from Stampin' Up! It ties so nicely and I haven't had a problem with it coming undone. It's a nice change from using a piece of ribbon I find.

Fabulous Flower....er....Friend.

I love this card. It is simple yet beautiful. I used an OLD button from my grandma's collection for the centre. I love using buttons as flower centers. They just add a little something extra.

Thank You Set

My girlfriend from highschool got married this summer and I was invited to her wedding shower. I got her a gift and then wanted to add something more personal to it so I made her this card. I know, it says "Thank You" on it, but I didn't write in it. It was for her to write in.There are always so many things that people help you with when planning a wedding that I thought it would be appropriate that she have a box set of Thank You's on hand for such times. So I made 5 of the above card and put them in this handmade box. I found the recipe for this box on a blog awhile back and was thrilled to use it! I think it turned out so great and she LOVED the idea and the cards!

::Goodie Bags::

I wanted to do something different for my daughter's goodie bags this year so I made them. I cropped the top off a small paper bag and mounted a piece of cardstock that I texturized in my Big Shot Machine. Then added a few embellishments and ribbon and VOILA! I used the Word Window punch from Stampin' Up! to make the handle at the top.
I hope this will inspire you to make your goodie bags or party favours for an upcoming party! They were very simple to make and a lot of fun!

::Daddy's Girl::

Here is a Digital Scrapbooking page I did with the Creative Memories "Storybook Creator Plus 3.0" program. I got it as a gift a couple years ago and finally got it onto my computer just under a year ago. I wish I sat down more often to create pages because I never disappointed with how they turn out and how they print! I print mine at Costco in a 12x12" size.

::From Nana::

My mom made this adorably-cute card for Makena for her 2nd birthday! I just LOVE it! One of my favorite things about making cards is making them with my mom. We will either get together at my house or at my parents and sit for hours crafting and talking. It's nice having someone around to make cards with who also enjoys it as much as I do. We inspire eachother as we create. I have to say that I think my mom is uber talented!
This card is a small example of it.

::A Happy Heart::

One of my favorite things to do with a card is softening the edges with the stamp pad.
I did it to the yellow as well as to the pattered paper to break up the harsh edges,
I like how it looks. If you want to know what items were used or where it is from please leave me a comment!

::Tickled Pink::

I made this card using an idea from a "CARDS" book for a cousin who just adopted a baby girl. We are so thrilled for them that they have a daughter to call their own after a long struggle. We're "Tickled Pink".If you want to know where an item is from or how it was made please leave me a comment!
