About Me

I love to stamp and create. Making cards is a hobby of mine and I want to share them with you! As my header says "short & sweet" - that's how my posts will be! If you want to know where something is from or how it was made, just leave me a comment!

This is a 'girl' paper version of the below post that my mommy made :) I love her paper choice.

Okay, so this is one of my FAVORITE card styles! If you have a gift card to give it is PERFECT! No more GC's falling out of the cars when you take it out of the envelope - revealing your gift before the recipient has even read the card!
My dad's cousin is an amazing cardmaker and she came from Edmonton to 'play' with me, my mom and sister. With her she brought this idea....
The frontThe first inside flap where the GC sits inside the pocketThe second inside flap where you can write your message. The finished product, showing you the full card.

I made this one in 'boy' papers as I was giving it to my BIL for his graduation. I will post the one my mom made in 'girl' papers. It's so pretty!!

Top Note pocket

A little antiquing, a little stamping, a little Top Note-ing.
I didn't use a double sided paper for the Top Note Die Cut (Stampin' Up!), I cut it out twice and then cut the patterned one in half to create a pocket. Kinda fun. I think :)

Get Well.

The papers used in this card are from Stampin' Up & Creative Memories! Although I don't sell for Stampin' Up! anymore I use their products.....I accumulated enough while I was selling that I need to use it up! No, really though, their cardstocks are so nice. The patterend paper is from Creative Memories. I used ribbon from Micheals that I picke dout of the $1.50 bin.....I LOVE that bin! All my Micheals ribbons are from that bin! And the 'Get Well' embellishment I pickd up at Precious Memories when the Making Memories products were on sale. I like the dimension in gives to the front of the card. Oh, and I stamped the front grey cardstock with 2 stamp pad colours with the same stamp.

My Dear, Kind & Wonderful Friend...

Who knew Hemp could be used on cards? Lol.
I love the Natural Hemp Twine from Stampin' Up! It ties so nicely and I haven't had a problem with it coming undone. It's a nice change from using a piece of ribbon I find.

Fabulous Flower....er....Friend.

I love this card. It is simple yet beautiful. I used an OLD button from my grandma's collection for the centre. I love using buttons as flower centers. They just add a little something extra.

Thank You Set

My girlfriend from highschool got married this summer and I was invited to her wedding shower. I got her a gift and then wanted to add something more personal to it so I made her this card. I know, it says "Thank You" on it, but I didn't write in it. It was for her to write in.There are always so many things that people help you with when planning a wedding that I thought it would be appropriate that she have a box set of Thank You's on hand for such times. So I made 5 of the above card and put them in this handmade box. I found the recipe for this box on a blog awhile back and was thrilled to use it! I think it turned out so great and she LOVED the idea and the cards!
